Holiday：英美意思不一样

1) Holiday在英式英语和美式英语中的区别：

英式英语中指假期、度假。美式英语中多指节日，公众假期。Traditional holidays, e.g. Christmas, Thanksgiving: 传统节日，比如圣诞节、感恩节Public holiday: 公众假期

例句：I'm going on holiday. 我去度假啦（英式）What's your holiday plan? 你过节去干吗？（美式）

Vacation：假期、休假

美国人说到度假，不太用holiday, 而更常用vacation.

这个词的用法也很多：

a. 名词：

Going on a vacation

Vacationing in a place

c. 度假的人：

Vacationer

National Day: 国庆节

国庆节相关说法多：

·National Day holiday: 国庆假期

注意：这里found不是find的过去式,

而是一个动词原形, To found: 成立

“祖国”英语怎么说？

英语形容“祖国”，最常用的有这两个词：

Motherland: 祖国，有更浓烈的感情色彩

Homeland: 祖国, 国土，比较中性。

也会用于专有名词，比如美国国土安全部叫

The Department of Homeland Security。

祖国一般不用“country”：

Mother country

Home country?

英语和汉语一样，用“母亲”来比喻祖国:

Mother tongue: 母语

国庆节干什么？回老家看看：
